2. Eat kolaches, drink coffee & OJ generously supplied by our corporate sponsors

3. Jim Murphy, General Manager of The Westchase District, greets cyclist commuters

4. Have fun biking safely to work throughout Westchase in small groups

5. Do it again in May 2010

Friday, November 9, 2007

Bike Barn, 12118 Westheimer, Houston TX 77077, is on board!

Our first sponsor! Mark, the store manager, wants his store to participate.

Is there anyone in Westchase who would teach a 55-year-old (able-bodied, but apparently slow-witted) to ride a bike? Never learned as a kid... Please respond to nooyawkuh@aol.com.

If you come by St. Paul's Methodist Church, 5501 Main St, Houston, TX 77004 (across from the Fine Arts Museum) this Saturday May 17th between 9 am - 12 pm, a certified instructor will be available to help you learn how to ride a bike. Please bring your own bike (or a borrowed bike) and a bike helmet. We are having a public bike safety event then.

I know a way to teach you to ride in less than three hours, or at least I'll get you started and you can work on the rest.

If you borrow a bike, don't bring one that's too big for you. Bring one that you can stand over comfortably.
